Week 11

I have finally selected all the pieces that I want to put up on the website as well as the board.

Week 10

This week I have been writing out the invites to be printed and sent out.

Branding

I have been working on my brand which is Edge House Media. This is a company I started with my friends with intentions of working on it after university. We focus heavily on web design, SEO and digital signage (advertising).

In week six I was given the task of sorting out the invites as well as signage I wanted to make the invites a grunge looking invite and one that stand out a lot so I scanned a piece of paper with tea stains over it. I placed white writing over black boxes as well so it stands out a lot more. I also edited Kevin's poster design with the black box and white text because the poster was lacking something and also the fact that the poster matched the invites.

Week 5 Group selection

In our class we got divided in too groups. There was graphics, web and exhibition. I chose graphics as this is the subject that I love. We were asked to start coming up with concepts of flyers poster and graphical items for the exhibition.

cv and business card

When looking at designing business card and cv I wanted something that would stand out the second its placed in front of you. So I did some research on different cv's and business cards and there were some really creating and excellent cv out there. For my cv I wanted to have something that was easily readable but and stands out. So I toyed around with a few concepts and styles and different colours also. In the end I went for a kind of retro gray scale design using mostly blacks, greys and white. I used a grunge brown paper effect which I feel make it very vibrant and easy to read because it takes the bright white glare of the paper away. The cv I wanted to make if frank and to the point with no gimmicks. I also decided to add a picture of myself in to the mix as if I was a prospecting employer I would like to put a face to the note. Maybe a stupid idea but I like it.

Week 4

We had a vote of who's exhibition was to be the final concept. We unfortunately did not win but the idea that won was very well thought of. It was 3rd dimensions.

Gallery visit Week 3

This week I went to couple of local art shop/exhibits to have a look and get a feel of what we needed to think about for our own exhibit. When visiting the gallery I noticed that all artwork was well light and the layout of the flooring gave me a scenes of direction. I feel that this will be very important for our own exhibitions as we doing really want people to feel lost. Just an idea to think about I guess.

Progression

In our group we brainstormed a few ideas and we decided to come up with the theme of progression for our exhibition. The theme was about progression in design/multimedia and surrounding subjects. We wanted to show how students have also progressed over the years of attending university.

Week 1.. Gallery and Exhibition

We have been given the task of hosting an exhibition in may to display all of our works. This should be an interesting module.
